The Legacy Project

The Legacy Project

Peace of mind for your family's most precious stories.

Old photos don’t last forever. I help families digitize their collections — safely, carefully, and with respect — so the stories are never lost.

Why It Matters

Sorting through old photos and family memories can be overwhelming. Many people put it off because it feels too big, too emotional, or too exhausting to tackle alone. But every year, boxes stay unopened, files remain scattered, and the risk of loss grows.

The Legacy Project is a personal venture to bring you peace-of-mind, comfort, and clarity in knowing that your physical photo collection is safe from deterioration or loss. Working together means you don’t have to carry the weight of doing the work by yourself. Together we’ll:

  • Bring order to decades of memories so they’re easy to enjoy and share.
  • Create backups and redundancies for safety in case of flood, fire, or loss.
  • Give you peace of mind knowing your family’s story is safe for future generations.

It’s not just about preserving photos; it’s about protecting the moments and people you never want to forget.

Personal Consultation

I offer virtual and in-person consultations for personalized sorting, organizing, and preserving your family’s photos and stories. If you’re local to the Minneapolis, Minnesota area, I also offer one-on-one consultations tailored to your needs.

  1. Careful Scanning: High-resolution scans of your prints — and respectful handling of your originals in a safe environment.
  2. Peace of Mind: Flexible “box by box” approach. No need to commit to your whole collection at once! Many of my clients start with one box, then add more over time.
  3. Easy Delivery: Organized digital files delivered on USB flash drive for simple and instant sharing.

How do you keep my photos safe?

All photos are carefully handled and stored in a safe environment. I only store them for as long as I'm scanning them. Once scanning is complete, I return your photos promptly.

Do I need to scan all my boxes at once?

No, you don't have to have your entire collection scanned at once. In fact, many of my clients start with one box, then add more over time.

How long does it take?

Length of time depends on the size of your collection. One small to medium-sized box should only take one week from start to finish. Ongoing scanning is an option with larger collections. Contact me to discuss your options.

How do you deliver my photos?

All photos are delivered on a USB flash drive formatted for your laptop, computer, or phone. Contact me for details.

Do you digitize VHS/Casettes/Slides/Negatives?

As of this time, I only offer photo scanning services. I am hoping to offer slide and negative digitizing in the near future.

Do you offer physical photo organization?

Yes! Pre-scan organizing would include sorting through boxes and albums, recommending removal of duplicates or blurry photos, grouping photos into categories (decade, family, event), preparing them for scanning (careful removal from albums or frames).

Pre-scan organization is priced a little differently from scanning, given its labor-intensive nature and delicate handling of materials. Contact me for details.
