A short little review for a short little read.

"Life is political, not because the world cares about how you feel, but because the world reacts to what you do."

Despite its size, this book is packed with detailed points on how to identify and react to tyranny, referencing very specific points in history.

I happen to really enjoy non-fiction, but I don’t read a lot of political work. I’m really glad I read this one, however. It’s easily a 5-star read for me. Extraordinarily relevant, concise, and informative. Do yourself a favor, block off an afternoon and read this book. I’m definitely looking into other work by this author.

"History does not repeat, but it does instruct."

Synopsis: The Founding Fathers tried to protect us from the threat they knew, the tyranny that overcame ancient democracy. Today, our political order faces new threats, not unlike the totalitarianism of the twentieth century. We are no wiser than the Europeans who saw democracy yield to fascism, Nazism, or communism. Our one advantage is that we might learn from their experience.

On Tyranny is a call to arms and a guide to resistance, with invaluable ideas for how we can preserve our freedoms in the uncertain years to come.
