Book Review: Vengeful by V.E. Schwab
The thrilling sequel to Vicious, following Victor and Eli and a few new exciting additions.
What a great sequel!! Vengeful is one of the last books I read in 2024 and it did not disappoint.
I wish I hadn't waited so long to read this. It was a great, fast-paced read that I enjoyed from start to finish. The first chapter of this book immediately grabbed me – it's been a while since I've been hooked so instantly. Marcella is one hell of a character!
"Perhaps she was glass. But glass is only brittle until it breaks. Then it's sharp."
Schwab introduced just the right amount of new characters where we got to enjoy our old faves while still expanding our universe. The new additions to the cast were great. As far as our OG characters, I loved seeing how Sydney grew in the last two books. We also got a good look at Eli's past and the events that contributed to who he is today. Schwab did a really good job making him into more of a 'whole' character and we can see Eli's intentions a little more clearly.
I love how these books are structured, where we get pieces of the past and the present right next to each other. It really lends itself to building up the tension throughout this book.

I'm excited to read more from this author, I've read just a couple of her books in 2024 and I can tell that I'm going to love her other writing.
