Book Review: You I Lie With by Meghan Davis

A slice-of-life moment in a world falling apart.

A hand holding a paperback copy of You I Lie With by Meghan Davis in front of a white wall.

I don't usually cry into my breakfast, but I picked this small novella up with my oatmeal and have been devastated by it.

"Maybe an apocalypse is what they needed."

I really appreciated the conciseness of this story - it is truly just a tiny moment in an unparalleled point in time. It is an incredible feat to tell such a devastating story in so few pages.

Should You Read It?

I’d rate You I Lie With ★★★★★ (5/5 stars).

  • An afternoon read at less than 100 pages.
  • Be prepared to be punched in the gut. Figuratively, of course.
  • A tight, concise story that just begs to be blown out into a longer novel.

Character-driven, heart-wrenching, devastating story. Five stars.
